Brief Description of our Adventure
I especially like this park
as it is very accessible to those with disabilities. I love hiking
and often come here in the summer by myself. My mother on the
other hand cannot walk very well but there are foot bridges and trails
that accentuate the highlights of this area that are well within an easy
walk of parking.
There are many places to
explore at this park. You can hike down through the falls and find
swimming holes or kick off your shoes and wade ankle deep down a ravine.
You are easily able to cross back and forth further down the falls and
makes for a great place to picnic.
There are also a multitude
of trails through the wooded area and a lake made by quarrying of
sandstone and a rich history for miners and lumberjacks. The
trails are clearly marked and followed with the map and there are signs
throughout the trails explaining the significance of certain historical
spots.
Please check out all our
photos from this trip and you will see why we love visiting this little
slice of gods country.
